The problems in every metal manufacturing company are almost the same: many raw materials that are bulky, improper management of the same and a large percentage of waste, the lack of transparency of consumed material and its real cost, as well as unsystematic monitoring of workers’ performance on a project. The conclusion is that I never knew how much a hall cost me when I delivered and did not have realistic information to use in calculating my next offer. Also, when pre-designing the hall, I usually had to work personally and spend my time with maximum concentration in the budget. Talking to Sasha Stamenovic, presenting our problems, we realized that we had to do something and that we had to make such a program that would allow parameterized design, ie. that I can easily and quickly integrate the parameters through my parameters into the program and that after that, the calculation for the offer can be done by a person with no experience. The engineering approach to the Edops team problem, as well as the enthusiasm for the new mathematical challenge, were the trigger for program development. After many years now, I enjoy working in the program, the program gives me all the information to manage my company in all its parts and with ease expand the production program.
With the recapitalization of the company and the change in ownership structure, there were unprecedented problems in managing the data at the moment, and the preparation of the reports took a long time, the data for the reports mostly had bookkeeping data that was in local currency. At that moment, the role of the CTO was “all-edged sword”. It was necessary to manage all resources at a much higher level with the same employees. How? In a short time, there were a lot of presentations of business programs, and the conclusion was: I can follow something, and something I cannot. it all comes down to Excel data processing again. Door production program and specific characteristics of this production in determining norms as well as substitution of raw materials, many foreign suppliers, but also placing products on foreign markets, ie reviews by different currencies and budget lines, complicated rebate policy, own transportation and management thereof, document generation in several languages both for suppliers, customers, freight forwarding, it required the work of several people, often on two shifts. To meet the new approach to work and knowledge of Edops developers, in 6 months of intensive teamwork, we have configured our business processes and imported data flows. Now the business program is doing activities instead of operators, generating sets of documents on a single command. An unprecedented benefit, which has not been planned, is the introduction of the DMS system, the archiving of all business documentation, which consequently saves a lot of time and money. Linking the DMS system to the accounting program contributed to the realization of the mission impossible mission. And it is very important to note that post-production of the business system is actually a reality and a necessity, the changes are easy and quick and in most cases do not depend on the version of the application.
When I started my company, I approached the business with the idea of contributing to the beautification of the environment with some urban and beautiful details and fulfilling my vision to make our Serbia more beautiful. All that was needed to realize the idea was a stumbling block. Market research, design orders, bidding deadlines, pictures I have to give to production employees … All of this has created a multitude of documents, opacity. Since I run the firm most of the day from home, the burden of realizing the product has been high and exhausting. Talking to an Edops company, I got answers that my problem was solvable and that I could track my co-workers through tasks, approve them remotely and that I could track work orders and delivery in production and not have to re-print images. Since I had nothing to lose but my time that I was just wasting, I believed in prosperity and combined positive energy with Edops. The boundaries for the goal are a reflection of our free will, not an aggravating circumstance of monitoring in business software. The owner and director of UrBiti Lawyer in a law office is a very demanding job, it takes a long time to work and analyze, it is always a struggle with time and deadlines and everyday questions are: who is today and where in the field, what should I do urgently, where is the document by which I do some action in the process, etc. As a manager and a lawyer, besides this, I am interested in who, how much and what he has done, whether what he has done is good and in accordance with the law, whether someone has taken a document from a case other than his own, when the appeal deadlines expire, yes did he receive the delivery … And finally, the month goes by, but the best part is billing the services, which is actually a nightmare. And then, at the beginning of the month, customers make phone calls to clarify the invoice. I changed a lot of dedicated law office software and each one had a problem, so I got into the situation of using three programs at a time. And that’s when I realized that in that way I couldn’t function. Quite by chance, I found out about EDOPS, that’s what I call them. I told my problems, they were drawing data streams, I was drawing my own, we were drawing a few times and in the end we shook hands as a sign that we were cooperating and that I would get a program that would allow me to monitor my business exactly as it is. It took me a while to master all the tools this program has and now I’m happy to come up with improvements, as the program invoices me in minutes and makes a specification with the tax activities of my co-workers with the invoice.
